I love umbrella strollers! They are lightweight, come without all the fancy frills but are very practical when it comes to a short run to the nearest grocery.
I always use umbrella strollers when I’m not driving too, because they fold up easily and a carrying strap is all I need to bring it onto buses and trains.
But that’s not to say I haven’t had any gripes with my umbrella strollers. After using and dumping quite a few of them (luckily they aren’t expensive), I know that you have to make sure the umbrella stroller you’re buying is not flimsy.
Since they’re made to be lightweight and easy to fold, check its safety features and maximum bearing weight! And don’t ever fold or unfold it while your kid is in the stroller (that’s common sense, but sometimes when kids are screaming and time is running out on you, people tend to make mistakes.)
